Anti-liberation forces want to grab state power illegally: Bahauddin

Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim today said anti-liberation forces want to grab state power in an illegal way through creating anarchy across the country.

“We will resist anti-liberation evil forces apart from remaining alert against any kind of conspiracy,” he told Awami Swechchhasebak League’s discussion marking the 93rd birth anniversary of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatun Nesa Mujib at Dhanmondi-32 here.

Nasim said the killers of 1975 and 1971 are still staying in the country as they want to oust the present government and destroy the country’s democracy.

The BNP-Jamaat wants to hinder the country’s peace and progress as well as the alliance wants to turn Bangladesh into a failed state, he added.

“We under the leadership of AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will resist the BNP-Jamaat clique and their followers’ any conspiracy,” he said.

Nasim said Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatun Nesa Mujib was leading the Awami League and its associate bodies’ leaders and activists in the absence of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

He said Bangamata was a great lady and she worked relentlessly to implement the dreams of Bangabandhu.

Swechchhasebak League President Gazi Mesbahul Hossain Sacchu presided over the meeting while its General Secretary Afzalur Rahman Babu moderated it.

Daily Bhorer Kagoj editor and Jatiya Press Club general secretary Shyamal Dutta, Bangladesh Pratidin editor Naem Nizam, Swechchhasebak League vice-presidents – M Abdur Razzak and Tanvir Shakil Joy, MP, Swechchhasebak League Joint General Secretary Khairul Hassain Juel, Dhaka City North President Ishak Mia and Dhaka City South President Kamrul Hassain Ripon, among others, spoke in the meeting.
