Another two buses torched in Banani, Jigatala

Miscreants set on fire another two buses at Banani and Jigatala areas in the capital on Wednesday amid the countrywide 48-hour blockade enforced by BNP and like-minded opposition parties.The incidents took place around 8:08pm in front of Kakoli Police outpost in Banani and around 9.23pm at Jigatala bus Stand.According to locals, a group of miscreants set fire on a Akash Paribahan bus in front of Kakoli Police outpost in Banani around 9.23pm.

Meanwhile, another bus of Ramjan Paribahan was torched by some miscreants around 8.08pm when it was parked in Jigatala bus stand.Being informed, four separate firefighting units from Kurmitola Fire station rushed to the spot and doused the blazes, said Talha Bin Jasim, station officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Control Room (media cell).However, no casualties were reported in these incidents.Police detained two persons from Jigatala for their involvment in the arson attack, said Parvez Alam, officer-in-charge of Dhanmondi Police Station.Earlier, some unidentified miscreants set a minibus on fire at Tantibazar intersection in Old Dhaka around 7.33pm on Wednesday amid the countrywide 48-hour blockade enforced by BNP and like-minded opposition parties.Two firefighting units of Sadarghat Fire Station rushed to the spot around 7:33 pm and doused the flame.On November 6, BNP, Jamaat and like-minded parties announced a 48-hour road-rail-waterways blockade across the country beginning from Wednesday.
