Farmer killed by opponent’s knife in Kasba

A farmer named Mucha Mia (34) was stabbed to death by an opponent over the transaction of paddy land in Kasba of Brahmanbaria. The incident took place at Dakshin Khar village of Kuti Union of the upazila at around 11 o’clock on Wednesday (April 17). The deceased Mucha is the son of Jaju Mia of that village. Raju Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Kasba police station, said that the deceased Mucha Mia had a transaction with the family of Ruhul Amin of Dakshin Khar village regarding paddy land. As a result, Ruhal Amin had a conversation with Moocha Mia in the paddy field in the morning. At one point, Ruhul Amin stabbed Mucha with a sharp knife in his hand, injuring him severely. Later, the locals rescued him and took him to Kasba Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. The body of the deceased has been sent to Brahmanbaria General Hospital for post-mortem. Legal action is under process in this incident.
