An eight-kilometre tailback was created on the east side of Bangabandhu Bridge on the Dhaka-Tangail highway this morning following huge pressure of vehicles ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.Toll collection on the bridge was also hampered multiple times as a number of vehicles broke down or met accidents, reports our Tangail correspondent.

As a result, the bridge authorities were forced to collect tolls from vehicles from 3:00am to 3:10am, 4:00am to 5:00am, and again from 5:30am to 5:45pm, the OC said.

“We are performing our duties on the road. Vehicles are moving. Hopefully, traffic will be normal in shortest possible time, the OC added.
